Meet Your Instructors

The heart of any great fitness class is the instructor. At Fitclub, our trainers bring expertise, passion, and a genuine interest in your success.

TJ Ballard, M.Ed, CSCS

As owner and lead trainer, TJ brings over 25 years of coaching experience to Fitclub. With a Bachelor of Science in Education (K-12 Physical Education) from The University of West Alabama and a Master's in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from North Greenville University, TJ combines educational expertise with athletic background to create comprehensive, science-based fitness programs.

As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), he possesses the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to design and implement safe, effective training programs for clients of all fitness levels.

Before founding Fitclub in 2014, TJ spent 11 years giving back to his community as a football coach at East Henderson High School while simultaneously serving as a Physical Education teacher at Hillandale Elementary School.

Junior Vargus

As our lead trainer for Monday through Friday afternoon classes, Junior brings passion and dedication to every session. Always willing to go the extra mile for members, Junior's supportive approach helps participants push their limits while maintaining proper form and technique.

Brooke Ballard

Leading our Saturday 8 AM classes, Brooke brings her extensive education background to Fitclub. With a Bachelor of Science in Education (K-12 Physical Education) and a Masters in School Leadership, Brooke combines teaching expertise with fitness knowledge to create engaging, effective workout experiences.

What to Expect in Your First Class

Walking into a new fitness environment can be intimidating, which is why we've designed our first-time experience to be welcoming and accessible:

Before Class

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork
  • Wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive shoes
  • Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the workout

  • Set a simple goal for your first session (completion is a perfect first goal!)

During Class

  • Your instructor will guide you through a proper warm-up

  • The workout portion will alternate between periods of work and recovery
